Choosing trees in Autumn

Updated: Oct 7, 2021

PSGD is currently selecting trees from various suppliers to gain the best specimens for our clients. Trees do many 'jobs' for us as designers whether it is creating a very specific screen all year round, drawing the eye to a part of the garden or just putting on a stunning display at certain times of the year, they all play a huge part and should be chosen very carefully.

Trees we are looking at

Acer cappadocicum 'Rubrum'

This tree has been chosen to deliver on shape and colour. This tree will not only hold the eye and screen a neighbouring roof top, it will provide (as it says) a great Autumnal display.

Heptacodium miconioides

A fantastic evergreen multi-stem that will add to a collection that is being built to screen the neighbour's view and 'cushion' the top seating area. A bushy, upright shrub with dark green leaves and prolific clusters of small fragrant white flowers from late summer to late autumn.

Halesia carolina

The very wonderful 'Silver Bell' tree, selected for an attractive addition which will screen an unattractive fence and provide white bell-shaped flowers. Sometimes known as a Mountain Snowdrop tree.
